Bioclear Restorations

A modern injection-moulded composite technique that closes black triangles, reshapes worn teeth and repairs old bonding, usually with no drilling at all.

Overview

Bioclear Restorations at Monaco Dentistry

Bioclear is a different way of placing composite. Instead of layering material by hand into a shape, heated composite is injected into a clear anatomic matrix that wraps the tooth, producing a seamless, polished result with no visible margin where filling meets enamel. It is the treatment of choice for black triangles between teeth, and it usually requires no drilling, which makes it one of the few genuinely conservative cosmetic options.

Why it matters

What bioclear restorations gives you.

Usually no drilling

Most Bioclear work adds material rather than removing it. Your own enamel stays intact.

Black triangles closed

The dark gaps that open between teeth near the gum line are exactly what this technique was designed to solve.

No visible margin

The injection-moulded matrix produces a wrap-around finish with no line where the composite ends.

Reversible and repairable

Because little or no tooth is removed, the decision is not permanent the way a veneer preparation is.

How it works

What to expect, step by step.

  1. Assessment

Photographs and an examination to confirm Bioclear is the right technique for your specific gaps or wear.

  2. Clean and prepare

The teeth are thoroughly cleaned and isolated, with no drilling in most cases.

  3. Injection moulding

The clear matrix is fitted and heated composite is injected and cured to full anatomic shape.

  4. Shape and polish

Contours refined and polished to a high shine, then the bite is checked.

Who it's for

Is this you?

Patients with black triangles after gum recession or orthodontics, worn or chipped edges, small gaps they do not want to close with aligners, and anyone with old grey-margined bonding.

Patient stories

What patients say.

“The dark triangles between my front teeth had bothered me since my gums receded. One appointment, no drilling, and they are gone.”
Karen J. · White Rock
“My old bonding had gone grey around the edges. The replacement looks like tooth, not like filling.”
Simon A. · Langley

Questions

Bioclear Restorations: your questions answered.

How is Bioclear different from ordinary composite bonding?

Traditional bonding is hand-sculpted, which leaves a margin that can stain and a shape limited by what can be layered freehand. Bioclear injects heated composite into a clear matrix wrapped around the tooth, giving a stronger, seamless, easier-to-polish result with no visible join.

Do you have to drill my teeth?

In most Bioclear cases, no. That is the main reason to choose it. Where old decay or failing filling material is present, that has to be removed first.

How long does it last?

Well-placed Bioclear restorations commonly last many years, and because they are composite they can be repaired or refreshed rather than fully replaced. Grinding is the main thing that shortens them, so a nightguard is often recommended alongside.

Can it close a gap between my front teeth?

Often yes, and in a single visit. Whether it is the right answer depends on how wide the gap is and what your bite is doing. Very wide gaps are better closed with aligners first, then finished with Bioclear.
